My name is Ilaya Lek and I am a freelance photographer in Amsterdam. Photography has been my passion since I was 8 years old when I got my first compact camera for my birthday. When I was 14 years old I bought a DSLR camera and from that moment on I started exploring photography much more seriously. I got a few small photography jobs and started developing my skills and direction. I chose to study Applied Photography and Image Communication at the Fotovakschool(NAVB), which I graduated from in 2023. Since then I have been working as a full time streetwear photographer around the world.
In my photos, I try to illustrate how reality can be subjective by bringing estranging elements into reality. I have a strong passion for streetwear, music, and surrealistic art, and combining these subjects in my photos.
My work is diverse and I take jobs for a lot of different companies and clients, this is why I have built up a lot of experience in the field. I have photographed events, products, models, festivals, and fashion for a variety of different clients.
